Questions I Often Get About Designer Tools
Over the years of working on Designer Tools, people have sent me lots of questions. Some come up so often that I thought it might be helpful to answer them all in one place. So, if you’ve been wondering about something, here are a few of the things people ask me the most.
When is the new version coming?
This is by far the most frequent question I get—and I totally understand why. It’s been a while since the last major update, but the good news is that version 5 is almost ready. It’s in the final stages of development and testing, and I’m planning to release it in the coming months. I’m making sure it’s polished and stable before it goes live, so thanks for your patience!
Can companies take over Designer Tools?
The short answer is 🤷🏼. Designer Tools has always been a personal project, something I started to solve my own problems at work. I’ve kept it independent so I can stay true to that original vision. While I love hearing that teams and companies find it useful, I’m not planning to sell it or hand over control anytime soon.
Will Designer Tools stay free?
Yes! There will always be a free Starter plan. While I’ve introduced subscription plans to support the time and costs that go into maintaining and improving the extension, I believe the core tools should remain accessible to everyone.
Which browsers does Designer Tools support?
Designer Tools currently works on Chrome, but with version 5, it’s expanding to other browsers like Firefox. If you use a different browser and want to see support for it in the future, let me know! I can’t promise anything, but I’m always interested in hearing what’s important to you.
Can I request a feature?
Absolutely! Some of the best features in Designer Tools started as user suggestions. While I can’t promise every idea will make it in, I love hearing your thoughts. If there’s something you’d like to see added, just drop me a message and let me know.
If I didn’t cover your question here, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat and hear your thoughts. Thanks for using Designer Tools and for being part of this journey—it means the world to me.
